A man attempting to burn down a Madisonville, Kentucky business also unintentionally set himself on fire, according to security camera footage released by police on Monday.
Surveillance video posted by the Madisonville Police Department shows an unidentified man and woman drive up to the business in a white minivan. The woman puts an object near the door, followed by the man who throws something on the ground, starting a fire.
The man then throws another object, which causes flames to shoot up his foot and leg, the video showed.
A second camera captures the man frantically running around the business and throwing himself into a grassy area next to the building, then kicking off his burning shoe.
He then returns to the burning building, pours something onto the fire and drives off in the minivan with the woman.
Anyone with information is asked to call Madisonville police detective Paul Haynie at 270-824-2121 ext. 2013 or Hopkins County Crime Stoppers at 270-825-1111.
